Hello JP,
Strange you should write about different foot wear. I have a torn medial meniscus, have had it for a few years. I did have the left repaired but I am nursing the left.
I thought to myself, why doesn't my knee bother mewhen I have flexible soul slippers on?
I have been wearing athletic shoes that have "good support" and have been for years.
My knee bothers me a great deal after going out and I do love to walk. I have had to curtail the walking and now I know what to try next, not slippers which are comfy but a nice pr of flexible shoes.
Once again,
Thank you!

I discovered the benefits of cheap clogs several years ago, when Crocs 1st became popular. In the 70s I was an avid jogger but developed Morton's neuroma in both feet. I could hardly walk until I switched to open-toed sandals. Sandals allowed my toes to spraddle out. Good sandals were expensive and didn't hold up well in wet Florida. Cheap dollar-store plastic clogs were just what I needed. Before long I was running once more.

I've also learned that running uphill is less traumatic on old joints. Next month I'll turn 71 and have less joint pain than I had 10 years ago. Walked/ran 5 miles today.

Running and walking quickly wear through the soles of most cheap plastic clogs. An exception is Wal-Mart's TreadSafe, which has a more durable sole glued to the bottom of the clog. The TreadSafe clog cost about $20 and has a picture of a chef on the box.
